Cocokara tutoring is designed to you practical Japanese.

For example, counting is not just 1 (i-chi), 2(ni), 3 (san)…. If you have cookies, you say １まい(ichi-mai)２まい(ni-mai)３まい(san-mai). There are lots of different ways of saying it depends on the shapes or the things.

Japan has lots of Kanji but we will focus on what Japanese people most use in their daily life and practice using Kanji that have two different meanings but mean the same thing.
Japan has lots of cultural events, so you’ll get to know a bit more about our culture.
Also, you can request other topics. If your child has interests in dogs, for example, I’ll create a handout about dogs.
*If you have difficulty catching up with school work in Japanese, we can focus on that too 🙂
Cocokaraで学べること
【ここから】では、日本で実際に使われる日本語を意識してプリントを作っています。
例えば、数を数える時は いち、に、さん・・・と数えるだけではなく、形や物によって特別な言い方があります。クッキーであれば、１まい、２まい、３まいと言うように、繰り返しの練習をして覚えていきます。
学校で習う漢字はたくさんありますが、日常生活でよく使われるような漢字に焦点を置いています。また、『速い』と『早い』の違いなども 練習問題をやりながら覚えていきます。
日本にはたくさんの行事がありますよね。深堀りをして、より日本の文化に興味をもってもらえるように努めています。
取り上げてほしいトピックがありましたら、できる限りご対応いたします。もし、お子さんが犬に興味があるのであれば、犬についてのプリントを作ります。

Cocokara has a YouTube channel. If you’re a Cocokara student, you can watch the unlisted videos which provide Storytime and we are always adding more. There are English subtitles as well. We’ll be planning some cooking videos very soon.
